The Manwich Makeover You Didn’t Know You Needed

Remember those gloopy, mystery-meat “Manwiches” from your childhood? Yeah, we buried that memory too—right next to your Walkman. This revamped version ditches the canned nonsense and levels up with bold, smoky green chile flavor thanks to our Western Dawn seasoning. It’s still messy. It’s still meaty. But now it’s actually delicious.

These ain't your cafeteria Sloppy Joes. We’re talkin’ lean ground turkey sautéed with sweet peppers, a DIY sauce that skips the sketchy stuff, and a hit of Flavor Expedition Co.'s Western Dawn to bring the mildly wild heat. Serve it up on a bun, and suddenly dinner feels like a campfire cookout—minus the dirt.

🌡️ Cook Temp:

Medium-high heat to brown, then reduce to low for sauce-simmering magic

🛒 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey

  • ⅓ cup diced yellow bell pepper

  • ⅓ cup diced red bell pepper

  • ⅓ cup diced red onion

  • 2–3 tablespoons Western Dawn (Green Chile Chipotle)

  • 1½ teaspoons yellow mustard

  • ¾ cup ketchup (look for one without high-fructose corn syrup!)

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 6 hamburger buns (or whatever carbs you're into—brioche, pretzel buns, even toasted sourdough)

👨🍳 Directions:

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey, diced onions, and bell peppers.

  2. Sauté until turkey is fully cooked and veggies are softened—about 7–10 minutes.

  3. Season generously with Western Dawn, and don’t be shy—this is where the flavor comes alive.

  4. Drain excess liquid if needed, then reduce heat to low.

  5. Stir in ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer gently for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally until everything melds into saucy perfection.

  6. Spoon that glorious mess onto buns and serve warm. Napkins highly recommended.

🔥 Bonus Tip:

Make it extra by topping with melty pepper jack cheese or crispy fried onions.
