Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground bison (grass-fed if possible)
  • ¼ cup fresh blueberries (finely chopped or mashed)
  • 2–3 tbsp Hazy Midnight (Brown Sugar & Coffee Rub)
  • Optional: splash of Worcestershire sauce or balsamic vinegar for extra richness
  • Cooking oil or butter for skillet

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine ground bison, mashed blueberries, and Hazy Midnight. Don’t overmix—just enough to blend.

  2. Form into 4 patties, about 1 inch thick. Pro tip: press a small dimple in the center to prevent puffing while cooking.

  3. Heat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little oil or butter.

  4. Cook patties for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until the internal temp hits 140°F for medium-rare, 160°F for well done.

  5. Let burgers rest for a few minutes before serving.

  6. Stack it with bacon jam, sharp cheddar, arugula, or whatever mischief you're into. Serve with sweet potato fries or grilled corn for a full-on flavor rodeo.

Pro Tip

The longer Hazy Midnight mingles with the meat, the better it gets. Feel free to mix and let it chill in the fridge for an hour before grilling.
