Ingredients

For the Steak Marinade

  • 1 pound Flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 3 teaspoons Hazy Midnight
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch

For the Stir Fry

  • 1 cup Bell pepper sliced, any color
  • 1 cup Broccoli florets
  • 1 medium Onion sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger minced
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup Beef broth (use low-sodium if desired)

For Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons Green onions sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  • Begin by thinly slicing the flank steak against the grain, ensuring uniform pieces about 1/4 inch thick. Set aside.

  • Cut the bell pepper and onion into thin strips, mince the garlic and ginger finely, keeping all ingredients handy.

  • In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, black pepper, Hazy Midnight and cornstarch, then toss the steak in to marinate for 10-15 minutes.

  • Heat avocado oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 2-3 minutes until browned and juicy. Remove from pan.

  • Add onion, garlic, ginger, and bell pepper to the pan and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.

  • Return the seared steak to the pan and add beef broth and some soy sauce, cooking for an additional minute.

  • Season with extra black pepper and garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro before serving hot.
