Store-bought granolas often contain high amounts of added sugars and sweeteners. When making granola at home, you can control the sweetness level by using natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup in moderation.
PLUS, you can customize with your own flavors to give it your own twist! Our Peanut Butter Spiced Apple snack seasoning can really create its own flavor adventure.
Peanut Butter Spiced Apple Granola
INGREDIENTS
2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
1 ½ cups sliced almonds
3 TBSP melted coconut oil
¼ cup pure maple syrup
1 ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
¼ tsp sea salt
FEC Peanut Butter Spiced Apple Snack Seasoning
INSTRUCTIONS
Pre-heat oven to 300°F with wire rack in the center/middle position. Line an 9×13-inch rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper
In a large bowl, combine oats and sliced almonds.
In a small bowl whisk together melted coconut oil with maple syrup, vanilla, salt, and FEC Peanut Butter Spiced Apple snack seasoning.
Pour over oats/nuts and mix well to coat. Use a silicone spatula to transfer the granola mixture onto the parchment paper lined baking sheet and spread out very well in a super thin layer for crispiest results. Nearly all the parchment paper should be covered by granola (unless you're using a bigger pan).
Pat to flatten. Add additional layer of Peanut Butter Spiced Apple snack seasoning.
Bake on the center rack at 300°F for 20 minutes.
Rotate the pan 180 degrees for even toasting and continue to bake an additional 10-15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
Keep an eye on it and yank from the oven once it's your idea of crispy golden perfection.
Once you remove your granola from the oven, allow it to cool on the baking sheet until completely cooled. Once it's cooled and crispy – dig in!
Granola will keep for up to two weeks in a lidded airtight container.
Enjoy as a snack, in your favorite trail mix, or on top of yogurt with fresh fruit and all your favorite toppings.
