Midnight Ride Blueberry Bison Burger

Aug 19, 2024

Get wild with blueberries, bison, and bold brown sugar-coffee flavor.

Ever wanted to eat like a frontiersman with a taste for luxury? This burger does just that. Juicy, lean bison meets the unexpected sweet punch of blueberries—balanced and elevated by Hazy Midnight, our brown sugar & coffee rub that turns “wild game” into gourmet.

This ain't your average backyard burger. The Midnight Ride Bison Burger brings smoky-sweet vibes, berry boldness, and bison beefiness in every juicy bite. The blueberries mellow out that gamey edge, while Hazy Midnight caramelizes and tenderizes like a flavor magician. And yes, it pairs obscenely well with bacon jam.

🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground bison (grass-fed if possible)

  • ¼ cup fresh blueberries (finely chopped or mashed)

  • 2–3 tbsp Hazy Midnight (Brown Sugar & Coffee Rub)

  • Optional: splash of Worcestershire sauce or balsamic vinegar for extra richness

  • Cooking oil or butter for skillet

🍽️ Feeds:

2–4 hungry humans (makes 4 quarter-pound burgers)

⏱️ Cook Time:

Prep: 10 mins
Cook: 8–10 mins
Total: 18–20 mins

🌡️ Cook Temp:

Medium-high heat on grill or skillet (around 375–400°F)

🔥 Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine ground bison, mashed blueberries, and Hazy Midnight. Don’t overmix—just enough to blend.

  2. Form into 4 patties, about 1 inch thick. Pro tip: press a small dimple in the center to prevent puffing while cooking.

  3. Heat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little oil or butter.

  4. Cook patties for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until the internal temp hits 140°F for medium-rare, 160°F for well done.

  5. Let burgers rest for a few minutes before serving.

  6. Stack it with bacon jam, sharp cheddar, arugula, or whatever mischief you're into. Serve with sweet potato fries or grilled corn for a full-on flavor rodeo.

💡 Pro Tip:

The longer Hazy Midnight mingles with the meat, the better it gets. Feel free to mix and let it chill in the fridge for an hour before grilling.
