Spicy Classic Margarita

Hot Tropics Margarita

Sep 09, 2022

If summer had an official drink, this would be it — but with just enough sass to keep things interesting. This margarita isn’t just about tequila and citrus; it’s about Slow Noon magic — our chili-lime-basil seasoning that gives your tastebuds a passport to paradise. Whether you’re sunbathing, grilling, or just pretending your backyard is Belize, this is your one-way ticket to vacation mode.

A margarita is a mood. It’s the “yes” to extra guac, the “sure, let’s stay out” at midnight, and the “heck yes” to an afternoon by the pool. This Hot Tropics Margarita takes the classic southwest staple and cranks up the fun with a little sweet, a little tang, and a gentle chili kick from Slow Noon. The secret? A whole orange blended into the mix, plus our small-batch rim salt that’s basically a fiesta in spice form.

Feeds: 4 thirsty friends
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Cook Temp: Cold & frosty
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Margarita Mix (we like Jose Cuervo)

  • 2 shots Silver Tequila

  • 1 shot Gold Tequila

  • 1 shot Triple Sec

  • 1 shot Blue Curaçao

  • 1 whole Orange (peeled)

  • 1 whole Lime (plus wedges for garnish)

  • 2 cups Ice

  • Slow Noon seasoning (for rim salt)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Prep Your Glass Like a Pro

  1. Spread Slow Noon seasoning in a small plate-sized mound.

  2. Cut your lime into wedges.

  3. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, squeezing gently for juice.

  4. Dip and twist the rim in Slow Noon until fully coated in glorious chili-lime-basil magic.

Mix the Magic

  1. In a blender, add margarita mix, silver tequila, gold tequila, triple sec, blue curaçao, the peeled orange, lime juice, and ice.

  2. Blend until it’s a smooth, frosty slush.

Pour & Adore

  1. Pour into your Slow Noon–rimmed glass.

  2. Garnish with a lime wedge.

  3. Snap a photo (you’ll thank yourself later).

Repeat Until…

  1. You’re either out of ingredients or out of daylight.

Tips & Notes

  • Want more heat? Sprinkle extra Slow Noon directly into the blender.

  • Make it a mocktail: skip the tequila and triple sec, swap margarita mix for limeade, and still rim with Slow Noon for a kick.

  • Always, always drink responsibly — the better these taste, the easier it is to “accidentally” have a few too many.

This isn’t just a drink. It’s a portable happy hour, a mini vacation, and a sweet-spicy story waiting to happen. One sip, and you’ll see why this combo of citrus, chili, and tequila is a must-have for every summer gathering.
