I never knew how easy fried chicken could be! If you like things spicy then you must add our Volcanic Sunset to the crispy skin. I'm obsessed! 🤩
INGREDIENTS
8 pieces of chicken (preferably drumsticks and thighs)
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups all-purpose flour
Volcanic Sunset to taste
2 teaspoons salt
Frying oil or lard
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a large bowl or pan, pour the buttermilk over the chicken pieces and let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
2. In a separate bowl or pan, combine the flour, Volcanic Sunset and salt.
3. Heat the oil or lard in a large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 350 degrees.
4. Take each piece of chicken out of the buttermilk bath and let the excess drip off. Generously coat each piece with the flour mixture, making sure to cover each nook and cranny.
5. Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil, skin side down. Fry each side for about 7-8 minutes or until they turn a heavenly golden brown.
6. Once cooked through, transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate to drain the excess oil. Let it rest for a minute or two, enjoy!
