With this old Native American recipe, you can fall in love with bison! The sweetness of the blueberries helps dampen the gamey taste if that really isn't your thing. Hazy Midnight tenderizes the meat from the inside out that really makes this burger melt in your mouth.
INGREDIENTS
1 pound ground bison (preferably grass-fed)
1/4 cup blueberries finely chopped or pureed, preferably organic and in season
2-3 tablespoons Hazy Midnight
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Form four equally sized hamburger patties about 1 inch thick.
2. Place on a heated skillet or grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
3. Serve with homemade bacon jam or condiments of your choice.
